how to NOT hit on someone, DAS intern style

Have you ever been in that awkward situation where you really want to give someone a genuine, heartfelt compliment, but you are concerned that what you say will be taken the wrong way if that person is of the opposite gender?

The other interns here at Dow AgroSciences have invented an elegant way to express that--add "no hetero" after the compliment to make clear that you are not implying any sort of romantic interest.  For example, Guy says, "You have really nice eyes, no hetero."  Girl says, "Thanks!"  Both of them continue their day peacefully, not worrying about possible misinterpretation of that little exchange.

This is why hanging out with sciency/engineering people is great.  If there's a problem it will be solved, be it mechanical, chemical or social.
